I was with my relatives Steve, Lauren, and Evan Adams. I arrived well into the dinner hour local time after what seems to be an unavoidable "endless" drive from the airport through San Francisco to their home in Oakland, CA, well inland from San Francisco Bay. Gladly they had a big bowl of a hearty soup ready the moment I arrived, as my body clock thought that it was well into the evening. As I have come to expect, we had a very fine family meal together in their dining room.
Christmas was a busy and joyous day. We started with Steve's waffles. Then it was off to open the presents. We maintained what apprears to be a family tradition of buying too much, but everyone was very happy with what they received. In the evening we had an elegant and festive dinner at close friends of theirs - just as we had the year before.

Lauren cooked many a wonderful dinner, and Steve baked up a storm, but the adults had an excellent dinner out together one evening at Olivia's in Berkeley.
