I drove from Cahors to the town of St-Antonin-Noble Val. The picture is of a rare Romanesque house in the center of town.
I crossed the Averyon River and followed it to the southeast. I stopped briefly in the little village of Milhars because of a road sign. The village appeared to have only a few inhabitants, but the stone village gate and the ruins of the old castle could still be seen.
My next stop was the picturesque (if touristy) village of Cordes-sur-Ciel. It was not the season, so few people were about, and some of the shops were closed or being renovated. The picture is of the entrance to the Town Hall.
a brief stop in the bastide of Castelnau-de-Montmirail and then on to
and then to Bruniquel, with its ruined fortress, repultedly oncle the seat of Visigoth Princess Brunhilda
I arrived in Albi in the late afternoon to visit the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum in the Bishop's Palace, the city's huge brick cathedral, and its pedestrian Old City.
